Hello Family and Friends,
The activities have been endless here in Shanghai, which makes it difficult to summarize to you, but I will try.
I first want to inform you that Chris has returned to home. On September 1st, he flew on Candanian Air to Vancouver, then to Seattle. His lower internal back pain was flucuating and retricting him from participating in any way. The bed was his only comforter. It was also felt that he would recieve more adequent health care in the U.S since the diagnoses in China was unclear. I still haven't heard from him, but my thoughts and prayers go out to Chris and his recovery.
Second, I wanted to let you know that we went to SuZhou and HangZhou on the same morning of September 1st. We first went to SuZhou, which is about a two-hour drive by bus. The country side reminded me of a book I recently read called, "Who Will Feed China?" It explained the continual shortage of agricultural land, which was being turned over for industrial use. That is what I saw: personal homes, and dozens upon dozens of factories for all sorts of purposes. SuZhou is best known in China for its Humble Administrator's Garden. It was built about 2,000 years ago and is the size of 4 to 6 football fields. It was very peaceful.
I have to go, teacher is kicking me off this computer. It doesn't belong to me, but I hope to get back on here sometime soon.
